Springfield Art Walk
Springfield Art Walk
Friday, October 1, 2010, Springfield had it’s first Art Walk between 2nd and 8th streets on Main Street. NEDCO (Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation) and ESAP (Eugene Storefront Art Project) teamed up with local Springfield businesses to present this inaugural event! ESAP is dedicated to connecting the Art Community to Downtown property owners by way of Storefront Art and Exhibitions in vacant commercial spaces. The goal is to allow short term exhibits in empty downtown storefronts to demonstrate each cities commitment to the arts, while beautifying downtown areas and allowing artists a unique canvas. On this beautiful fall evening folks strolled Main Street and enjoyed art in windows, visited shops and restaurants and stopped by the 18th annual Mayor’s Art Show at Emerald Art Center (show ends Oct. 29). So many new fun businesses in downtown Springfield. If you missed it the next one is November 12, 5-7pm, and due to fall weather, more businesses will have it even more inviting to come on in.
